The far-left so-called environment party represents a serious threat to our way of life, warns ACL Managing Director Jim Wallace writing in the Spectator Australia magazine out in newsagents tomorrow. In an opinion piece which is featured on the magazine’s front cover, Jim writes:
“In recent weeks, Bob Brown has triumphantly announced a ‘Greenslide’. But it is yet another reflection of how our democracy has become determined by the highest bidder, rather than the most deserving.
The Senate race was so unequally framed that Brown was able to present the Greens, without doubt the hard left of Australian politics, as a genuine alternative to the two major parties, and to continue the deception that this party is about what is natural and is above our tainted mainstream politics.
It was an attractive argument for an electorate presented with such a negative campaign by the major parties. But even a cursory glance at the Greens, their ideology and record in politics, makes a complete mockery of any claim to genuine third party status in Australian politics.
The Senate competition between the minor parties was unequal because only the Greens could amass the cash to promote their cause via a TV campaign. Together with the abandonment of the environment as an issue by the major parties and the political football status given to refugees by the Coalition and the ALP, this made for quite an opportunity. An incredible number of people voted Green as an alternative, without any real idea of what they stand for and almost certainly little empathy for many of their incoherent policies.
This is, after all, a party that simultaneously holds policies supporting pornography and prostitution that fuel the sex trade, while all the time feigning support for women and the most vulnerable.”

Hi,
As a Christian I am very concerned about the Greens philosophical position on sexuality in particular, but I fear that the Christian political parties and movements have possibly created this opportunity by allying so closely with the whole conservative social agenda – which in our includes economic rationalism and a fear of foreigners. If we a Christians could more properly apply the biblical commands to promote justice for the poor – including dispossessed ‘foreigners’, that is, asylum seekers, we would not drive people of conscience to support the Greens. If we as Christians could see the potential of climate change as having repercussions for the world’s poor, and on that basis oppose the continuation of pollution in our industry, we, again, would not be driving conscientious people to the far left.
For example, we have completely gobbled up economic fear-mongering with regards to protecting polluting industries for the sake on equilibrium in the ‘economy’, and failed to remember that we ARE the economy, and the economy is not a god to be feared, but is a product of our decisions and actions. It will survive, it will adjust. Christians need to become aware of the degree to which we accept the mandate of ‘growth’, and test whether we are being persuaded to support the principle of greed for the sake of economic safety.
Christians need to take moral leadership in the care of the poor, which includes how we treat the stranger and the poor that we cannot see. And because the health of the environment affect the health and well-being of all people, made in the image of God, on that basis it is right to take urgent action to reverse the decay of our world, as far as it is in our power. Then we will have a right to have influence in those personal moral issues on which we have the clarity of Scripture.
Jim’s article is good, but I wonder why he did not mention the Green’s stance on abortion.
I appreciate & agree with Jim Wallace’s comments regarding the Greens.
On environmental issues:
If Australia contributes 3% to world pollution, then spending billions to reduce that by 20% equals .06% reduction in the world total. More manufacturing will go to China & India where pollution will increase much more than this 0.06%. & cause greater suffering for the poor in those countries. All countries must act – not just Australia, or any such action taken in isolation will exacerbate the problem & not help and only weaken Australia’s ability to do anything else & create unemployment & increase our cost of living for no perceivable benefit other than feeling good about doing something unselfishly.
On assylum seekers (boat people):
Australia has a responsibility to help others that are in peril because of war or persecution but the boat people issue must also be evaluated in terms of Australia’s overall immigration policy. This minority pay people smugglers to bypass legal avenues which disadvantages others & this is not Christian nor Australian. Many seeking legal access, some because of war & persecution also, may be denied or delayed further because of the selfish actions of these illegal immigrants. The argument is that they are fleeing war & persecution in their home countries, but I understand that they usually travel through several safe locations before final embarkation to Australia, & are not in immediate or even long term danger. Legal applicants deserve a fair go – Illegal immigrants should apply through normal channels from one of the safe location, but choose not to do so. Overall, the arguments should not be over just boat people, but rather over the overall level of immigration, how we can help streamline the processes to more quickly get them evaluated & through the queue & if successful, integrated into Australian society &/or to other country prepared to assist. In the end, should it be Australia’s choice who is admitted or the choice of the people smugglers as to who gets to obtain the many, many benefits that come with Australian residence?
There is NO PLACE in the world for legislation of homosexual stranger adoption.
As it is, many children are in a state of confusion as their families are “blended”, after divorce and remarriage, etc. The children “carry the can” and suffer in so very many ways. Many of them have mental illnesses, eg schizophrenia, resulting in suicide, as they cannot understand nor cope with their parents’ marriages breaking up.
For aeons back, marriage has consisted of a man and a woman making their vows and living together, and both caring for their children, so that the children can relate to both their parents and have a much better chance of being emotionally healthy.
The Church and its Bible have insisted on marriage between a man and a woman for life. No man or woman is perfect in this life. We bumble on together, each trying, persevering, loving and forgiving, then the kids grow up, learning to cope with life much more healthily.
NO HOMOSEXUAL STRANGER ADOPTION!!!

When the Greens pitch themselves as an Entity of their own political stance they Lie about the Fact that they are just a covert arm of the Labor Party. Their policies are toward allowing the Muslim and it’s genocidal hatred of non-Muslim people into Free countries like Australia and New Zealand without thought that the Muslim will produce Children at a faster rate than the non-Muslims and will not allow abortion or suicidal thoughts in their children unless they are prepared to serve Allah (The Devil in Disguise) and take out as many non-Muslims as they can. The Prophet was a Scribe to an Archangel and it is Sad he couldn’t tell Gabriel from Lucifer when he wrote the q’ran (Koran) or he’d realise that he was getting his Ego stoked by a Loser with nothing to lose… The Gay’s and the Greens are a selfish lot, If they were really into saving the planet you would find them using common sense and wisdom, instead they allow the destruction of property that the owners were legally hampered by Green legislation from clearing of basic Fuel… They want a Carbon Tax, CASH UPFRONT to Stop Industry not change it’s ecological outcomes… They want to bill industry for what Nature itself outdoes many times over. They won’t stop the Volcanoes and other Geothermal sources of Climate Change and imagine that stopping Industries will solve the problem, in Short they cannot do the Math… They can’t explain all the Aberrations that speak against their science. They think tolerance solves problems when Homosexuality causes as much confusion as it helps. Homosexuality is an unproductive choice of lifestyle which is self promoting and is built on insecurity. Right when Australia could use a Baby Boom the National birth rate is down below Maintenance levels making the import of a workforce desirable for improvement. To put it Bluntly Australia needs the Green Party like a fish needs a Bicycle… The non-Christian element of Australia needs to awaken to the threat and consider what a Self made and Self driven Woman Leader did to the Nation across the Tasman and ask themselves do they want that here?
The problem is, when even Christians think man can solve the worlds problems including Climate Change ourselves.
1 John 2:15-17 Don’t love the world or anything that belongs to the world. If you love the world, you cannot love the Father. Our foolish pride comes from this world, and so do our selfish desires and our desire to have everything we see. None of this comes from the Father. The world and the desires it causes are disappearing. But if we obey God, we will live forever.
As Christians we should keep our faith and focus on Jesus and help the downhearted, the poor, the disabled, love God above anything else and love our neighbour and look forward to God’s reward for us.
The Green’s are devoid of economic qualifications. Their immigration concerns re “boat people” is simply a ploy as they nowhere demonstrate compassion for the views let alone the lives of others except the homosexual community where the church does actively provide love in the context of rejecting that which according to the Son of God is wrong. We must continually question the Greens in public forums and not allow their agenda to hide behind disappointment with the major parties or their false public image as “reasonable, compassionate and on a roll”.
